Mary R. (DeLisio) Palumbo

Of Forest Hills, formerly of Penn Hills, age 93, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Extraordinarily sweet and loving mother of Chester Palumbo (Cynthia) of Durham, NC, Ron Palumbo of Forest Hills, Joseph Palumbo (Lilli) of Indiana Twp., and Mindy Palumbo (Holly Marra) of Forest Hills. Adored and beloved Grandma of Chet, Sarah, Caleb, Giaunna, Joey, Alanna, and Alissa, along with 10 great-grandchildren, and her grand-pups Lola, Josephine, and Lincoln Luigi. Preceded in death by her brothers Mike, James, and Anthony. She was the cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Mary was born on February 14, 1933, in Lowellville, OH, to Ottavio and Josephine DeLisio. She was the first homecoming queen at Lowellville High School, where she graduated in 1952. She married Chester L. Palumbo on April 24, 1954, and had 59 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2013.

Mary was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord and her family more than anything, to whom she offered unconditional love. She was active in the church choir at St. Bartholomew Church in Penn Hills. She loved Italian music and loved to sing. She was kind and generous and welcomed everyone into her home and life. She was an amazing Italian cook and appreciated the beauty of flowers. She was always smiling and happy. Sweet Mary touched the lives of everyone she met and was loved by all.

Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Sunday, February 22, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Monday, February 23, at 10:00 AM. Entombment at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville.
